Update on Planning for Annual Meeting, February 2010
2010 Planning Committee, Potomac Chapter, ASLA
Thank you all. Eleven field sessions and eighteen tours were submitted for the Annual Meeting last week, before the January 27th deadline. This is a terrific level of commitment from everyone and a wonderful range of topics. National ASLA will let us know sometime in March which submissions they will accept and we will post the results at that time.
A big thank you to everyone who submitted tours and field sessions. Not every submission was accepted by the 2010 Planning Committee but all efforts were appreciated. Special thanks to Elisabeth Lardner and Mark Gionet for their long hours reviewing and responding to submissions.
The Potomac Chapter is now poised to host the Annual Meeting next September. As a result of the 2010 Kick Off Reception hosted on November 5, 2009 by National ASLA, we now have subcommittee chairs for our 7 subcommittees and many members have signed up already to volunteer. Thank you to those who are serving as subcommittee chairs.
If you haven't yet signed up, check out the subcommittee listed below and contact the chair directly to volunteer. Many subcommittees are up and running, so please do not delay. If you have signed up but haven't heard from the subcommittee chair, please contact them again. The tour and field session committees still need volunteers to help with the tours on September 10, 2010.
