Wolf Josey Landscape Architects is seeking a talented Associate or Sr. Associate with 5 to 10 years of work experience on multiple project types including urban, garden and campus landscapes to work with us on a diverse range of projects.

Project Designer applicants should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino and MS Office Suite. Experience with construction drawing is strongly desired for with hand drawing skills, passion for design and regional plant knowledge are advantageous.

In addition to the above, Associate applicants should be well versed in AutoCAD and have experience working within complex drawing sets while coordinating with multiple subconsultants.  All candidates must hold an MLA or BLA.

Wolf Josey was founded in 2014 in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. We are a woman owned business working primarily in the mid-Atlantic and Southern regions. With the belief that all landscapes are important contributors to a community and the environment, we bring our values of design and ecological responsibility to every project regardless of scale. Our work ranges from park design to master planning to ecological restoration and garden design in both the public and private realm.

Our Baltimore office is looking for an energetic and creative Landscape Designer to join the Landscape Architecture studio. About the Position

  • Assist in generating design solutions and design development.
  • Create site analysis diagrams and graphics.
  • Prepare site plan and 3D renderings and assist in developing design presentations.
  • Produce construction documents.
  • Assist with construction administration/observation.
  • Collaborate with project consultants and clients to facilitate the design process.

About You 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture required
  • 3-7 years of experience in Landscape Architectural design
  • Experience and/or interest in a variety of project types
  • Experience in preparation of construction documents
  • Excellent design, graphic and presentation skills
  • Passionate about the profession and willingness to work in a collaborative and energetic environment.
  • Strong design and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, or other 3D presentation software and hand graphics.

Responsibilities include hand sketching, digital drawing and drafting, site documentation and analysis, development of schematic design concepts, development of construction details, working with clients and contractors, work in a collaborative team setting to make the world more harmonious, one plant at a time.

Qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Landscape Architecture (or Architecture with a documented interest in Landscape Architecture) and 0-2 years of recent professional experience (Landscape Designer), 5+ years of experience (Associate)
    • Excellent organization, communication, and graphic skills
    • Commitment to beauty, innovation, health, and happiness through the practice of landscape architecture
    • Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, Autocad, and three-dimensional graphics programs like Rhino and Sketchup. Experience with Revit is a plus but not required

Charles P. Johnson and Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Landscape Architect and Project Manager to join the Planning Division of our Silver Spring, Maryland office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working and managing a wide range of large and small projects including residential development, mixed use, commercial and institutional.

The applicant will be responsible for preparation of layouts, grading plans, landscape, recreation and forest conservation plans. The position will include regular meetings with the clients and agencies and will require an understanding of design development, and review process. A knowledge of the review and approval processes within the various local Suburban Maryland agencies is desired. The applicant will be working in a team environment with other Landscape Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and CADD technicians. We are looking for an applicant that will participate in organizations and activities related to the industry and contribute to the CPJA marketing effort.

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture (PLA/RLA required).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in site planning and landscape architectural design.
  • Graphic design presentation skills
  • Ideal candidate will be comfortable with coordinating with other engineers, subconsultants and managing clients
  • Familiar with managing budgets, billing, and being the main point of contact with clients
  • Experience in Montgomery, Prince George’s and Charles County, Maryland is ideal, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Oral presentation experience.
  • Grading experience is a must. Would like to see grading plans in candidate’s portfolio
  • Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
