2018 President’s Award – top award

Presented to AECOM in the Analysis, Planning, and Urban Design Category

Sense of Place”, designed by AECOM has received this year’s President’s Award in Analysis, Planning, and Urban Design. An urban framework plan, “Sense of Place”, interweaves deaf culture, sensory rich public spaces and functional landscape infrastructure into safe and inclusive public realms near Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C..  As we continue choreographing our work with others to shape the landscapes of our cities and influence the fields of our perception, with diverse concepts and cultures in mind; we can optimize people’s cognitive reach and constitute a teaching opportunity – the learning gain.
